Career in Social Media – Splash Media U Launches Master Social Media Certification Scholarship Contest for Veterans of U.S. Military Service

This contest will award 50 scholarships each to U.S. veterans of any branch of military service—active duty, reserves or retired— who want to add these skills to their personal toolkit or pursue a career in social media.

DALLAS, Texas (February 19, 2013)—Splash Media U, a leading provider of social media marketing education through its accredited online program, announced today it has launched a contest that will award 50 scholarships to men and women who have served in any branch of the U.S. military. The scholarships will entitle recipients to pursue Master Social Media Certification, which paves the way for a new career in social media marketing.

This contest is open to all United States veterans (active duty or retired) from any branch of service—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Reserves. Veterans can nominate themselves, or friends and loved ones can nominate any veteran.

“This scholarship program is a way for us to say thank you to all the brave men and women who are serving or have served this fine nation,” Splash Media U President Paul Slack said. “This is an exciting opportunity for them to embark on a new career in social media, one of the hottest job markets going.”

To enter the contest, qualifying veterans must create and upload to YouTube a short video explaining why they want and deserve a scholarship to pursue Master Social Media Certification through Splash Media U. Friends or family members can submit a video on behalf of a deserving veteran who qualifies for this program. Splash Media U is accepting nominations through Monday, March 18.

Splash Media will post all eligible videos to its Facebook page, and starting March 19 the public can vote for the videos that they think represent the most deserving candidates. Voting continues through Tuesday, April 2, at which time the top 50 vote getters will receive a scholarship to the Master Social Media Certification program, a 100-percent online-based education. This scholarship could be a jump-start to a career in social media.
